Leave No Trace Level I Trainer

The 2-day Leave No Trace Trainer course is designed to enhance participants' understanding of minimal impact recreation and outdoor ethics. On this course you will learn the skills and techniques essential to practicing Leave No Trace. This course is also for individuals who will be teaching Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics and those who are familiar with Leave No Trace but want to deepen their understanding of the science behind the Seven Principles. Through lectures, discussion, interactive activities, student-led lessons and a two-day outing which includes one night in the field, this course will give participants tools and techniques to further define their outdoor ethic and learn teaching skills to pass these principles on to others. Students will put these lessons into practice during the course while on day hikes and at camp. Participants leave with practical teaching tools and a Level I Trainer Certificate.

Note: Leave No Trace Trainer Course is not intended to teach basic travel, camping or other outdoor skills. Participants must have basic outdoor skills and be able to camp and hike.
