Friends of Katahdin Woods and Waters

Planned Giving

Invest in the future of Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument through a planned gift to Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters. Bequests and legacy gifts can cost nothing now, while enabling you to contribute to the preservation of this treasured landscape far into the future. By alerting Friends to your plans, you become a member of the Woods & Waters Legacy Society.

Members of our Legacy Society make different kinds of planned gift commitments—many of which have no impact on their lifestyle today. You can:

  • Include Friends of KWW in your will or revocable trust.
  • Name Friends of KWW as the beneficiary for part or all of a retirement plan, such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b).
  • Name Friends of KWW as the beneficiary of a fully-paid life insurance policy.
  • Make an outright gift to, or create, an endowed fund with Friends of KWW.

Next Steps

Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2017. Our EIN, or Federal Tax Identification Number, is 81-5102906. Starting in 2019, we expanded our annual filing, reviewing, and reporting process to include a financial audit and published annual report.
