Celebrate with us! Friends of Katahdin Woods & Waters invites you to commemorate the opening of Tekαkαpimək Contact Station in Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. An extraordinary gift to the National Park Service imbued with Wabanaki artistry and knowledge, Tekαkαpimək will provide the global public a deeply meaningful introduction to this landscape we all cherish. We are grateful for your support and partnership and look forward to sharing one, two, or all three events during this special weekend with you! This private ceremony will commemorate the partnerships behind Tekαkαpimək Contact Station and includes time for you to experience Tekαkαpimək. Brunch provided. Our annual community celebration and fundraiser includes a cocktail hour, delicious buffet dinner, Maine Beer Company on tap, presentations, live music from the Fogtown Family Band, and great company on the shores of Millinocket Lake.
