Welcome to the registration page for the 11th annual Stars Over Katahdin! This year we will gather at the Lumbermen's Museum in Patten, ME, from 4 pm to 9 pm on September 28, 2024.

Event Schedule

4 - 5 PM: Solar Viewing and Naturalist Activities 
Safely view solar activity with expert astronomers from around the state of Maine and beyond. Naturalists and night sky enthusiasts will offer additional activities.

4 - 9 PM: Family Activities with the National Park Service 
Children can earn their Night Sky Explorer Junior Ranger badge and participate in additional activities such as film canister rockets and nocturnal animals programs.

4 - 9 PM: Dinner and Snacks Available for Purchase On Site 
A food truck will be on site to sell dinner items (cash only).

5:15 PM: Campfire Chats 
Featuring the National Park Service, expert astronomers, and night sky enthusiasts.

6 - 7 PM: Burnurwurbskek Singers

7 - 9 PM: Night Sky Viewing
Guided night sky viewing with astronomers and professional telescopes.

This event is free (donations optional) and open to the public. Registrants will be sent a confirmation email that includes the event schedule, a packing list, and options for local overnight stays.
