Stars Over Katahdin is back for its ninth year! We hope to see you in-person this year at Taylor's Katahdin View Campground on September 17th for an afternoon and evening filled with wonder and discovery about our night skies.
Day time activities and lessons begin at 1:00pm and include safe solar viewing, scale solar model, telescope tutorial, nature hike and more! Evening programs begin at 6:00 pm with a campfire chat hosted by Dark Sky Maine. Once the sun sets, the telescopes come out and we will have expert astronomers assist you in using these tools to view the night sky.
To have an enjoyable experience, we suggest bringing: Picnic lunch and dinner, snacks, plenty of water, comfortable and warm clothing, a camp chair or blanket, and a flashlight.
